HC Deb 09 November 1970 vol 806 cc17-8W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry why prosecutions for breaches of the Companies Act have not been undertaken, having regard to the failure of many companies to make annual returns as required under the Acts; and if he will now institute proceedings for breach of the law by Pressed Steel Fisher.

Mr. Ridley

Prosecutions are undertaken. But where the default is failure to file an annual return the Department seeks to secure compliance before proceeding to prosecution. Pressed Steel Fisher has now filed an annual return made up to 11th March, 1970.
