HC Deb 06 November 1970 vol 805 cc463-4W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, in view of her recent decision concerning the future of old primary schools, she

her estimate of the number of primary school buildings required in Lancashire; and how this compares with other counties in England.

Mr. van Straubenzee

It is for the Lancashire Local Education Authority to determine what schools it needs. The county's programme of projects to be started in 1971–72 which I have just approved includes 22 primary schools at a cost of £1.9 million. This is the second largest allocation to a county.
