HC Deb 04 November 1970 vol 805 c364W
Mr. Jennings

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has for the building of a second bridge across the River Trent at Burton-on-Trent; what stage any suggested plans have reached; and in which year he estimates such a bridge will be built.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

I understand that Burton-on-Trent Council, the responsible highway authority, will soon submit proposals for the principle roads programme. Until it does I am unable to say when the bridge may be built.
