HC Deb 04 November 1970 vol 805 c382W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the additional income from the proposed charges for admission to museums and art galleries.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

As my right hon. Friend told the House on 27th October, the charges are expected, on a Great Britain basis, to bring in £1 million in a full year when fully implemented. Until there has been discussion of the various factors with the trustees of the Scottish institutions I would prefer not to make any precise estimate.
