Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many rents have been raised since houses came out of control and into regulation following the Housing Act, 1969; by what percentage the former rents have on average been increased; and in how many cases the landlord has used compulsory means to secure his tenant's agreement to improvement of the house.
§ Mr. AmeryUp to 16th October, 1970, 671 such rents had been registered in England and Wales. No analysis has yet been made of these rents. No orders under Section 54 of the Housing Act, 1969, were made in 1969; figures for 1970 will not be available until next year.
