HC Deb 03 November 1970 vol 805 cc309-10W
39. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the date on which the issue of bound volumes of the Commons HANSARD reports was most in arrears since 1951; how many fortnightly volumes were awaiting publication on that date; how many such volumes are in arrears now; and what steps he is taking to expedite publication in future.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

The 10th November, 1969, when 17 volumes were in course of production. As of today, only four volumes are now outstanding and these will be published in the next fortnight or so.

The Parliamentary Press aims to produce the bound volumes within about four months but while Parliament is in session, urgent day-to-day requirements necessarily take precedence. Arrears are normally made up during the Recess, as will virtually have been the case this year.
