Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what was the average number of jobs created per acre of new industrial development within the last five years; and what was the number of new jobs created by such development in each of the last 10 years.

I regret that information in the form requested is not avail- able, but details of new industrial building completed for manufacturing industry in the years 1960–69 for which industrial development certificates have been issued are given in the table below.
