§ Mr. Malcolm MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has prepared of the total number of pupils who will attend the Nicolson Institute, Stornoway, when comprehensive arrangements are in operation.
§ Mr. Ross:At present the roll of Nicolson Institute is 1,038 and the combined roll of the other secondary schools in Lewis is 329. It is not possible to make a precise estimate at this stage of the eventual roll of Nicolson Institute, but I understand that the authority expects it to be of the order of 1,250.
