Dr. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many cases there have been during the six months September, 1969 to February, 1970, inclusive, in which members of dip. lomatic missions in England have repudiated charges or penalties for which they were liable on account of traffic offences; and from which missions the offenders came.
§ Mr. Elystan Morgan:Police records indicate that, during the period from 1st 386W September, 1969 to 28th February, 1970, 180 traffic incidents were reported in which members of diplomatic missions were alleged to have committed offences (including 82 parking offences) and there were 10,736 cases of cancellation of fixed penalty notices issued under section 80 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act, 1967 in respect of such persons.
