HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 c351W
Q16. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the growing number of successes achieved by the General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress in carrying out Her Majesty's Government's policy of preventing industrial disputes from taking place and resolving those that have commenced, he will consider appointing Mr. Feather as the Minister to deal with such matters.

The Prime Minister:

No, but the Government welcome the efforts of the T.U.C. in carrying out the undertaking about unconstitutional strikes and inter-union disputes which the T.U.C. General Council gave at 10, Downing Street, on 18th June, 1969.
