HC Deb 12 May 1970 vol 801 c253W
Mr. Astor

asked the Minister of Transport what is the volume of traffic using the A329 through Pangbourne; and how this compares with the designed capacity of the road.

Mr. Bob Brown:

A census in 1968 showed around 20,000 passenger car units per day using A329 in Pangbourne. With waiting vehicles permitted, the theoretical capacity is about 7,500 p.c.u. per day.

Mr. Astor

asked the Ministry of Transport what is the estimated increase in the volume of traffic using the A329 through Pangourne subsequent to the completion of the M4.

Mr. Bob Brown:

It is considered that no significant increase will occur.
