HC Deb 06 May 1970 vol 801 c152W
Mr. David Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress has been made by his Department in implementing paragraph 131 of the British Medical Association's Planning Unit Report No. 2, Aids for the Disabled, a copy of which is in his possession, which relates to the establishment of bio-medical research and development units at regional and local levels.

Dr. John Dunwoody:

Wherever appropriate and practicable we are continuing to encourage local bio-medical research units combining engineering clinical and other disciplines, as has been the policy for a number of years. We have recently increased our financial support for work in this general area and intend to do more.
