HC Deb 26 March 1970 vol 798 cc552-3W
Mr. Philip Noel-Baker

asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) how many staff are employed by his Department to promote the sale of British textile goods to countries abroad; and what are their respective salaries;

(2) how many staff are employed by his Department in promoting the sale of British engineering products, other than arms, to countries abroad; and what are their respective salaries.

Mr. Mason

I can make no estimate of the staff time specifically devoted to engineering and textiles, but the Board's total export effort, both at Headquarters and in the regions, from which these and all other export industries benefit, is very considerable and is, as my right hon. Friend knows, being reorganised and expanded.
