53. Mr. Oakes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to require all police forces and fire brigades which are called to the scene of an accident which could cause chemicals or oil to find their way into the drainage system, to report the circumstances at once to the appropriate river authority for the area.

I believe it is already the general practice for accidents of this kind to be reported to the appropriate river authority.
