HC Deb 25 March 1970 vol 798 cc436-7W
70. Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many Edinburgh residents he estimates are suffering delay in receiving tax rebates due to them, following difficulties with the computer in East Kilbride; and whether he will make a statement advising those experiencing hardship or inconvenience as a result on their best course of action.

Mr. Taverne

The information is not available. The Inland Revenue attach the greatest importance to dealing promptly with claims for repayment of tax and regret delays which have occurred in individual cases. I will gladly look into any cases where there is evidence of delay.
