HL Deb 24 March 1970 vol 308 c1402WA
THE EARL OF ARRAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the sons and daughters of Life Peers have the same right of use of courtesy titles as that of members of the hereditary Peerage.

LORD SHACKLETON

Yes, my Lords. In a Royal Warrant dated July 22, 1958, The Queen declared Her Will and Pleasure that the children of any Life Peer or any Life Peeress created by virtue of that Warrant may have and enjoy on all occasions the same style and title as the children of Hereditary Barons of the United Kingdom.

House adjourned at five minutes before six o'clock.
