HC Deb 24 March 1970 vol 798 cc333-4W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Minister of Transport what representations he has received from the Cornwall Sea Fisheries District concerning an exemption from the new drivers' hours rules for drivers of fish lorries; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Murray

My right hon. Friend was unable to agree to the request of the Cornish Sea Fisheries District that drivers of lorries carrying fish should be allowed to drive for 11 hours per day. But we have made regulations granting extensions to the permitted hours of duty, which should help fish hauliers.
