§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyI assume that the hon. and gallant Member has in mind the paid appointments to which he refers in his previous Question. The figures are 38 appointments for a specific period and one appointment of indefinite duration. In general we make no specific provision for removing nominees but in some instances there are statutory powers providing for vacation of office before the end of the appointed term.
