HC Deb 20 March 1970 vol 798 c225W
Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what progress has been made with arrangements for the limitation of imports of cheddar cheese for a further period.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

The Government have now reached agreement with most of our suppliers, covering the large bulk of our cheddar cheese imports, on measures to continue voluntary restraint on imports of cheddar and cheddar-type cheese from 1st April at a slightly lower level of deliveries than has operated over the past two years. I hope to make a further announcement shortly about the details.
