asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether next financial year he will increase the provision from central Government funds for British-German youth exchanges.

Mr. Foley

Her Majesty's Government intend that the present provision of £30,000 made by the British Council for British-German youth exchanges should be increased to £50,000 in 1970–71, subject to Parliamentary approval.
