HC Deb 17 March 1970 vol 798 cc99-100W
Mr. Michael McNair-Wilson

asked the President of the Board of Trade how much public money was made available to the British National Export Council during 1969; how many overseas trade missions were assisted by the council; and what is his estimate of the appropriate value of exports resulting from these visits.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

In the current financial year, the grant in aid to the British National Export Council is £950,000. Additionally, the missions scheme administered by B.N.E.C. on behalf of the Board of Trade will cost £550,000. So far during this period B.N.E.C. has given assistance to 215 outward trade missions. It is not possible to estimate the value of exports resulting from these missions.
