Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many applications have been made by Nottinghamshire County Council for a share of the £15 million which he has set aside for the replacement of old and grossly sub-standard premises; and for which schools they have applied.

The Authority proposed eight projects at a gross cost of about £940,000. The schools mainly involved are:

  1. 1. Worksop, St. John's C.E. Boys and Girls Primary Schools—replacement.
  2. 2. Arnold Calverton Road Infant School—replacement.
  3. 3. Sutton-in-Ashfield Primary School—relief of Forest Glade Junior and Infant Schools.
  4. 4. Worksop, Manton Infant School—relief of Newcastle Street Junior School.
  5. 5. Harworth C.E. School—replacement Bircotes North Border Infant School—improvement.
  6. 6. Mansfield, Brunts Grammar School—replacement.
  7. 7. Annesley County Primary School—replacement.
  8. 8. Kimberley Larkfields County Primary School—relief of Junior Girls and Infant School.
