HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 c56W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce legislation to limit the power of landlords controlling large tracts of Scotland, particularly in the Highlands and Islands.

Mr. Ross

As the hon. Lady knows, the Government have announced plans to abolish the feudal system. As a first step a Bill at present before the House would, among other things, enable the Lands Tribunal for Scotland to vary or discharge certain types of unreasonable controls which landowners may seek to exercise.
