HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc21-2W
Mr. Ford

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will state in detail the reasons for the delay in commencing the regional hospital board's programme for modernising hospital facilities in Bradford.

Dr. John Dunwoody

The board's programme for modernising hospital facilities in Bradford began some years ago. In the last five years the board has completed a new ear, nose and throat and eye unit, mental illness and geriatric developments and a maternity unit at a total cost of over £2½ million. Local consultations are taking place on the further development of the hospital services.
