HC Deb 12 March 1970 vol 797 cc373-4W
Mr. Godman Irvine

asked the President of the Board of Trade what payment is made from public funds to the British Agricultural Export Council; and what results it has achieved.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

In general support of the Council £20,000 was paid in 1968–69 and £15,000 in 1969–70: it is intended that £10,000 as the final payment in this series of grants shall be made available in 1970–71. The Council have established many contacts abroad which have lead to valuable contracts for United Kingdom exporters and which should lead to others in the future.
