§ Mr. Pardoeasked the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning if he will make a statement on the discussions his Department has had with local authorities in Cornwall about local government reorganisation.
§ Mr. CroslandMany authorities in Cornwall commented on the new struc-342W ture proposed in the Redcliffe-Maud report. In general, they advocated retaining a two-tier structure. The Government's conclusions on the need for a change, and their reasons, have been explained in the recent White Paper and in Parliament. Several authorities in Cornwall also put forward points about boundaries, on which, as we have said, we shall now be having consultations with local authorities generally.
§ Mr. Pardoeasked the Minister of Technology if he will publish a White Paper on the Cornish economy.
