HC Deb 11 March 1970 vol 797 cc329-30W
73. Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many British policemen are now in Anguilla; and what is the annual cost to the British authorities.

Mr. Foley

The strength of the Anguilla Police Unit remains as given in the reply by my hon. Friend the Joint Under-Secretary to the hon. Member on 21st November, 1969. The costs of the Unit over the first year since March, 1969, are estimated at £640,000, but this figure includes capital expenditure which should not recur.—[Vol. 791, c. 393–4.]
