asked the Attorney-General what is the average age of the members of the Iron and Steel Arbitration Tribunal; what are the ages of the youngest and the oldest members of the tribunal, respectively; and what provision exists for the removal of members from the tribunal on the grounds of age or incapacity.

The Attorney-General

The average age of the members of the Iron and Steel Arbitration Tribunal is 59. The youngest is 56 and the oldest 62. Under paragraph 43(4)(b) of Schedule 4 to the Iron and Steel Act, 1967 the office of a member may be declared by the appointing authority to be vacant on the ground that the member is unfit to continue in his office.
