asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many wage settlements in the public sector she has so far approved during 1970 which have fallen within the Government's current norm for wage increases; and what has been the number of workers involved in settlements which have fallen within and out-with the current norm, respectively.

Six settlements have been made in the public sector in 1970 within the current range, involving 120,000 workers. Twenty-one settlements were made outside the range, involving 1,028,000 workers.
