asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what was the number of persons employed in the Scottish jute industry at the June, 1968 count and the June, 1969 count, respectively.

At June, 1968 the estimated number of employees in employment in Scotland in jute (minimum list heading 415 of the standard industrial classification) was 14,500. Estimates for June, 1969 are expected to become available during the next few weeks.
