asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will reconsider his decision to transfer the functions of the West Midlands Advisory Committee for Civil Aviation to economic planning councils.

The decision to transfer to economic planning councils the functions of the Civil Aviation Advisory Committees was recommended by the Edwards Committee and has been widely endorsed. I have taken into account the views expressed by the West Midlands Advisory Committee but it would not be satisfactory to adopt different systems in different areas.
