§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total expenditure of the Highlands and Islands Development Board under Section 9 of the Highlands and Islands Development (Scotland) Act, 1965 in 1969; and what part of such expenditure arose from work in connection with the projected petrochemical plant at Invergordon.
§ Mr. Ross£60,930. None of this related directly to the possibility of establishing a petro-chemical plant at Invergordon, but £11,135 of it was spent on surveys concerned with the reclamation of Nigg Bay and the deep water approach to the Cromarty Firth, which had some relevance to the proposal.
