asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will obtain a report from the chief constable on the establishment and the strength of the police force in Cornwall in 1964 and the latest date for which figures are available.

The establishment in Cornwall at the end of 1964 was 458 and the strength 447. As police divisional boundaries do not now correspond with the county boundary a close comparison with present establishment and strength is not possible; but for the area now covered by the combined Devon and Cornwall Constabulary the total figures are as follows:
