§ Dr. Glynasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations she has received from parents and teaching staff about the proposals submitted by the local authority for the future organisation of secondary and grammar school organisation in the Windsor division of Berkshire; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mrs. ThatcherI will consider carefully any representations that my hon. Friend cares to make. A plan for the reorganisation of secondary education for this area was approved in principle in 1967. If the local education authority decide to implement this plan, it will be necessary for them to submit statutory proposals under section 13 of the Education Act 1944—as amended—and to give public notice of their intentions; there is then an opportunity for formal objections to be lodged.
