§ Mr. MacArthurasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a White Paper on employment in Scotland; and if he will include in this a table comparing the forecasts given in the White Paper, The Scottish Economy, 1965–70, with the results achieved by 1970.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellWhile I am giving careful consideration to the problems facing the Scottish economy, with particular reference to labour supply and demand, I do not intend publishing a White Paper in the immediate future. My hon. Friend will be aware that, shortly before the end of the last Parliament, the former Secretary of State said that the employment forecasts in the 1966 White Paper were not expected to be met by 1970.—[Vol. 800, c. 400–1.]
