§ Mr. Redmond
asked the Minister of Technology what adjustments have been made in the salaries of the chairman and members of the National Coal Board to operate from 1st April, 1970.

§ Sir J. Eden
The changes are as follows:

Before 1st April, 1970 Since 1st April, 1970

Chairman £15,000 £17,500

Deputy Chairman £12,000 £14,000

Full-time Members £7,700– £7,850–

£10,450^* £12,725^*

^* Salaries have been determined individually within these bands by reference to the responsibilities and functions of individual members and other special circumstances.
