86. Mr. Douglas

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the rôle of the Scottish Economic Planning Board and Council in co-ordinating the fulfilment of the various sub-regional plans which are now to hand.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

The Planning Board will continue its executive function of co-ordinating the work of Government Departments. I have asked the members of the Planning Council to let me have their own views before I take decisions about the future of the advisory planning machinery.
