HC Deb 22 July 1970 vol 804 c171W
Sir B. Rhys Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what pension will become payable under the provisions of the National Insurance (Old Persons' and Widows' Pensions and Attendance Allowance) Bill to a widow on waged 45 years whose husband died when she was 43 years of age.

Mr. Dean

Assuming that the contribution conditions were fully satisfied and that there were no qualifying children at the time the husband died, the rate would be £2 11s. If there were a qualifying child, then the rate would depend upon the widow's age when her widowed mother's allowance ceased.
