HC Deb 22 July 1970 vol 804 cc116-7W
50. Mr. Wilkinson

asked the President of the Board of Trade what the yearly number of international passenger-carrying air movements into and out of the airports of the Midlands and Yorkshire in the past five years has been.

Mr. Corfield

As the answer contains a number of figures I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT. At the five airports there have been 4,000–5,000 international air transport arrivals a year and a similar number of departures.

Following is the information:

during the next six months; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Noble

For British European Airways, yes, but British Overseas Airways Corporation's limit will be reached in about six months' time and I propose to introduce a Bill to increase it later this year.

Mr. Mason

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the present state of the borrowing powers of the British Overseas Airways Corporation and its future financial requirements.

Mr. Noble

I would refer the right hon. Member to the answer I gave today to a Question from the hon. Member for West Derby (Mr. Ogden).
