HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 cc96-7W
Q8. Sir G. de Freitas

asked the Prime Minister what part he intends to take in negotiations for British entry into the European Economic Community.

The Prime Minister

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster has responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of the negotiations; I have no plans to take part myself.

Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Prime Minister if the authorised interview given by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food published in the Daily Express on 16th July, 1970, on the subject of British entry to the Common Market represents the policy of Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether the public statement made by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in London on 15th July about the terms for Great Britain's entry into the Common Market represents the policy of Her Majesty's Government; and whether he will arrange for the text of this statement to be published in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

The Prime Minister

The Government's policy on the subject of United Kingdom entry to the European Communities was set out in the statement by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster at Luxembourg on 30th June, 1970.
