HC Deb 20 July 1970 vol 804 cc32-3W
Mr. Maxwell-Hyslop

asked the Minister of Transport in 1967, 1968 and 1969, how many accidents involving motor vehicles were attributable to loss of drivers' vision due to opacity of shattered toughened-glass windscreens; and how many people were killed and injured in these accidents in each year.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

This information is not available, but past sample studies have shown that less than 0.1 per cent. of injury accidents were considered to have been caused by shattered windscreens.
