104. Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government policy regarding greater flexibility of exchange rates; and if he will co-ordinate such policy with the Governments of the European Economic Community.

Her Majesty's Government's policy is to work with other countries towards the most effective system of exchange rates. In this process full regard is paid to the views of the Governments of the European Economic Community.
