§ Mr. Dudley SmithThe cost to date is £680,000. All newly established training boards receive a grant from public funds towards their costs of administration in the first year of their existence. The Board received a payment of £290,000 for this purpose. In addition a special payment of £390,000 was made to help the Board and the industry at the time of the severe outbreak of foot and mouth disease in 1967–68.
