§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Minister of Technology if he will list all the incentives available to attract industry to the intermediate areas of Yorkshire and Humberside.
§ Mr. RidleyThe financial incentives available to industry in the intermediate areas and which are not available in the non-assisted areas are:
- (i) grants at 25 per cent. (in some cases 35 per cent.) of factory building costs linked to the creation of new employment as in the development areas;
- (ii) Government built factories on the same basis as in the development areas;
- (iii) the full range of training grants and training assistance and help towards the transfer of key workers as in the development areas.
§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Minister of Technology which parts of Yorkshire and Humberside are classified as intermediate areas.
§ Mr. RidleyThe employment exchange areas included within the Yorkshire Coalfield and North Humberside intermediate areas are listed in the Intermediate Areas Order, 1970.
