HC Deb 13 July 1970 vol 803 c115W
33. Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Technology what steps he is taking to recover from the New Basingstoke Canal Company the cost of damage at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, resulting from flooding caused by the breach in the canal bank in September 1968.

Mr. David Price

A revised claim in respect of the cost of the emergency repair to the canal bank and the damage to R.A.E. property was presented to the New Basingstoke Canal Company and rejected by them early this year. Treasury Solicitor's Department are now obtaining expert opinion on certain aspects of the claim before deciding on the next action.
