Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether he will make a statement concerning the Government's policy regarding the National Board for Prices and Incomes, and the position of the chairman and the salary to be paid to him.

Mr. Bryan

The appointment of the present Chairman of the National Board for Prices and Incomes runs until 31st October 1970 at a salary of £15,000 a year, after which he will be taking up an appointment outside Government service.

Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what references are currently being considered by the National Board for Prices and Incomes; and by which Departments they were referred.
