HC Deb 09 July 1970 vol 803 c99W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Attorney-General whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT in chronological form the dates when his Department was requested to take action on the practice known as cube cutting; whether he will expedite a decision; and when he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

My predecessor first received information alleging cube-cutting on 23rd January, 1969 and on 29th January, 1969 he asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to arrange for these allegations to be investigated by the police. The investigation is continuing as quickly as the complexities of the inquiries allow, but I am not in a position to say when a decision will be made.
