Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what plans she has for reducing overcrowding in primary schools adjacent to rapidly growing owner-occupied housing estates.

It is in the first instance for local education authorities to determine the need for additional places as the result of new housing, whether public or private. I shall be glad to look at any particular case which the hon. Member has in mind.
