asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he plans to have with local authorities regarding the encouragement of the sale of council houses to sitting tenants.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I shall shortly be sending a circular to local housing authorities on this subject, after which discussions can take place on any aspects which need clarification or further consideration.

Mr. McElhone

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what policy he intends to adopt with regard to the proposed selling of council houses in Scotland.

and intimate whether they are primary or secondary schools, and the number of pupils attending each school; and if he will give the numbers by districts in the city of Glasgow and the place of origin, if outside the Glasgow area, of pupils attending each school.

I have had applications from three councils, and three others have inquired about conditions of sale.
