HC Deb 06 July 1970 vol 803 c12W
Mr. Dell

asked the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has made to the Government of the United States of America regarding the official proposal to impose quotas on imports into the United States of America so far as it affects United Kingdom trade.

Mr. Anthony Grant

Under both the previous and the present Administrations the U.S. Government have been left in no doubt of the concern felt in this country over the moves to restrict U.S. imports under conditions incompatible with the accepted international rules. It is our strong hope that ways will be found of dealing with any real difficulties in a manner which will not undermine the system of liberal international trading.
